In cream there's the Colorfix from Danessa Myricks, in several ranges, and the Luxe Cream Palette. Stick eyeshadows, or crayons, are creamy, quick to apply and come from several brands: the Cupid's Arrow Longwear Stylo from Nabla is one of the bestsellers, and the Aqua Resist Smoky Shadow from Make Up For Ever is another. For colour effects, the loose multichrome and duochrome pigments from Karla Cosmetics change colour depending on the angle and the light.

For lining there's the Gel Eyeliner Pencil and the Kajal from Kryolan, the True Signature Liner pen eyeliner and the Bombay Black Waterproof Eye Pencil from Nabla, the Aqua Resist Color Pencil and the Artist Color Cream pot eyeliner from Make Up For Ever. Frequently asked questions.

What's the difference between powder, cream and stick eyeshadows and loose pigments?

Powder eyeshadows, single or in a palette, are the easiest to blend. Cream eyeshadows, like Colorfix, and stick ones, like the Cupid's Arrow from Nabla, give intense colour and are quick to apply. Loose glitter pigments have a more intense, reflective shine because they aren't pressed and have no ingredient binding them together. They can be harder to apply, but they make up for it in shine. They don't need a base, but they come out more intense, or give a different colour shift, depending on the base you use underneath.

Which eyeliner should I choose?

In pen form, the True Signature Liner from Nabla. In a pot, the Artist Color Cream from Make Up For Ever. As a gel pencil, the Gel Eyeliner Pencil from Kryolan. If you need water resistance, the Aqua Resist Color Pencil from Make Up For Ever and the Bombay Black Waterproof Eye Pencil from Nabla are waterproof according to the brands.

Do multichrome pigments change colour?

Yes. The multichrome pigments from Karla Cosmetics show several colours depending on the angle and the lighting, and the duochrome ones show two.

How do I apply false lashes?

With patience and lash glue, such as the DUO Brush On StripLash Adhesive, which is available in white or clear.

What do I use for brows?

For a super quick, natural finish, the Aqua Resist Brow Fixer from Make Up For Ever. For more intensity, without anything dramatic, the Brow Divine from Nabla or the powder brow palette from Kryolan. For a hyper-realistic finish, the Brow Ambition pens from Nabla, drawing hair by hair. Set everything in the shape you want with a clear gel, the Lift & Fix Brow Gel from Nabla or the one from Kryolan.
