Additional information

A brand we have a lot of affection for

Kryolan was born in Berlin in 1945 and is one of the brands we stock the most at Kitchen. It is huge, with its own production and several factories around the world, and yet it is still an independent, family-run brand with no outside investment beyond the family that founded it. You will find Kryolan products on almost every film, television and theatre set, and it is hard to put together a character makeup kit without them. It is cruelty free, and it also has a wide selection of vegan products (not all of them are).

Dermacolor, the lifesaver in many kits

Dermacolor Camouflage Creme is one of the brand's oldest products and it still saves many kits. It is a highly pigmented makeup designed to correct and cover skin disfigurements, discolorations and tattoos, and it is especially suitable for the face and neck. There are many shades, which can be mixed with each other, helping you get a natural result when applied correctly. Once set with Dermacolor Fixing Powder and Fixing Spray, it becomes waterproof and, according to Kryolan, protects the skin from UV radiation, lasting even in extreme conditions such as swimming, heat and physical effort. It comes in pots, refills and palettes of 6, 12, 18 and 24 colours.

Aquacolor and Supracolor: paints for body painting and face painting

Aquacolor is a glycerin-based cream activated with water, and it is one of the most common choices for body painting, face painting, Halloween and Carnival. Supracolor is a full-coverage cream with a pigment content of up to 44% and a silky consistency. Both come in 6-colour palettes.

Adhesives, latex and blood

For beards and wigs you have Spirit Gum, Spirit Gum Matt (less shine) and HD Pro Gum (designed for high-definition cameras), with their own removers. For special effects there are Liquid Latex, Collodion for scars, Artex, Tooth Enamel, Wool Crepe Hair, Pros-Aide and blood (HD Blood, Drying Blood, Supreme Blood).

If you don't know where to start, talk to us at the Parque das Nações shop or by message, and we'll help you choose.

Frequently asked questions.

What is Dermacolor Camouflage for?

It is a highly pigmented makeup designed to correct and cover skin disfigurements, discolorations and tattoos, mainly on the face and neck. It is set with Dermacolor Fixing Powder and Fixing Spray, and once set it is waterproof and, according to Kryolan, withstands swimming, heat and physical effort.

How do you apply Aquacolor?

Aquacolor is a glycerin-based cream activated with water. Apply it with a brush or a slightly dampened sponge, on the face or body. It is widely used for body painting, face painting, Halloween and Carnival. Once dry you can blend it slightly.

What is Supracolor?

It is a full-coverage cream with an extraordinarily high pigment content, up to 44%. The silky consistency, made from pigment, waxes and oils, gives excellent coverage with a relatively thin layer.

Which adhesive should I use for beards and wigs?

Spirit Gum Mastix is the classic adhesive for hair, beards and wigs. For more perfect results on camera, HD Pro Gum was developed for high definition. Spirit Gum Matt has less shine, which gives a better result in close-ups or under strong lights. Each one has its own remover.

Is Kryolan cruelty free and vegan?

It is cruelty free. Not all products are vegan, but it has a wide selection of vegan products. If you are looking for a specific vegan product, just ask us.
